Windy Creek Estate, formally Cobanov Wines was first established in 1937 by Anthony Cobanov. He had left Croatia in 1924 and spent 13 years cutting sleepers in the south-west to enable him to put a deposit on this Swan Valley property. In 1937 he bought the fertile Swan Valley property that is still the core of the family business and sent for his wife and sons. Tony's father Steve arrived as a teenager in 1938.

They grew grapes for dried fruit production but made a small amount of wine for the Perth immigrant community. The Windy Creek label was first released in 1980 but the winery's actual name changed, after a two and half year battle with Debortoli's (Windy Peak), in 2000. The family has continued to produce wines for 70 years and we have been selling fruit to other wineries for approximately 25 years.

	2010 Verdelho A crisp, fresh and lively style of Verdelho with a subtle tropical fruit aroma. The balanced palate carries distinctive passionfruit flavour. A terrific drink-now style, with cellar potential. $12 bottle $120 dozen
	2010 Sauvignon Blanc It has finally arrived, a Swan Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Pale straw with a green rim. The nose is dominated by tropical aromatics. A crisp and lively palate is characterised by passionfruit, honeydew melon and gooseberry. Qualities that carry through to a lengthy, mouth filling finish. $12 bottle $120 dozen
	2009 Chardonnay This exceptional Swan Valley Chardonnay has an attractive citrus floral aroma, which is complemented by its great depth and elegance of flavour and a crisp, well balanced finish. This wine may be enjoyed in its youth or cellared for up to three years to develop its full potential. $12 bottle $120 dozen
	2010 Premium Classic Dry White This Swan Valley wine, matured and blended to a traditionally high standard, has been made from specially selected fruit, resulting in an attractive, delicate, medium weight on the palate, with complex flavours and a well balanced finish. $10 bottle $100 dozen
	2010 Chenin Blanc A fragrant Swan Valley Chenin, exhibiting lingering tropical and citrus flavours on the palate, leading to a dry, crisp finish. Exceptionally pleasing as a “drink now” style. $12 bottle $120 dozen
	2010 Autumn Harvest Produced from late-picked Chenin and Verdelho grapes grown on our Windy Creek vineyard. The grapes were allowed to reach maturity on the vine before being hand picked and carefully cold fermented to retain full flavour, allowing the resulting wine to retain some residual sugar. $10 bottle $100 dozen

Red

	2010 Caprice A fresh flavoursome palate with full spice and strawberry characters, this wine shows a French influence. The resulting wine maintains this attractive pink hue and elegant fruit freshness, finishing with a dry delight. $10 bottle $100 dozen
	Autumn Red Light bodied style, spicy oak and blackberry characters finishing fresh and clean. Being slightly sweet try spicy Asian food with this wine. $10 bottle $100 dozen
	2008 Grenache This once taken for granted variety now takes pride of place. Plum red in colour, of medium intensity with aromatics of wild strawberry and red cherry. The palate is soft and balanced, finishing with pleasing complexity and length of flavour. $12 bottle $120 dozen
	2009 Cabernet Merlot Classic A blend of Cabernet and Merlot, matured in American oak. This wine has an intense bouquet of berried fruits, with traces of plum and strawberry, finishing with a soft palate of vanilla oak. Definitely a drink-now wine. $10 bottle $100 dozen
	2007 Old Vines Shiraz A serious Swan Valley Shiraz, it has a savoury aroma with a twist of black pepper on the nose. The satisfying earthy, ripe plum characters and silky tannins are well complemented by the well balanced oak finish. $12 bottle $120 dozen
	2008 Family Reserve Shiraz A finely structured yet powerful classic with layers of fruit framed by restrained oak. Fleshy red currant & plum flavours flood across the palate leading to a delicate yet creamy spiced oak finish which ensures good aging potential. . $18.50 bottle $200 dozen

Fortified

	White Port Made from 80 year old Pedro Ximinez vines, this port is of a drier style with apricot characters that becomes honey like with age. $18 bottle $144 Ctn 8
	Liqueur Shiraz This luscious liqueur Shiraz explodes with fulsome fruit flavours, flooding across the palate. A warming and viscous liqueur to savour made from Autumn picked Shiraz $18 bottle $144 Ctn 8
	8 Year Old Port A rich full flavoured Port with a delightfully lingering finish. Barrel aged and blended using the Solera System. $12 bottle $96 Ctn 8
	Liqueur Muscat Deliciously warm dessert wine. Made from muscatel (muscat gordo blanco) and frontignac grapes grown in the swan valley and matured in oak for some considerable time. This wine has a good combination of fruit and oak flavours. $16 bottle $128 Ctn 8

Windy Creek Estate are also becoming well known for their popular range of "Wicked Stepmother's" jams and marmalades, and occasionally chutneys and pickles. Home made by Ruth's real stepmother Wendy Barlow, all the conserves are made with local fruit and vegetables. Wendy is always looking for new combinations and recipes and some of our unusual varieties are "tomato and passionfruit", "cumquat orange and ginger", "muscat grape" (made with Windy Creek muscat of course!), and even a banana jam. We also have everyone’s favourites - fig, strawberry and orange whisky.

At only $4.50 a jar and beautifully presented with a little cloth doily they make a great present.
