OUR STORY
Windy Creek Estate, formally Cobanov Wines, was first established in 1937 by Ante Cobanov. He had left Croatia in 1924 and spent 13 years cutting sleepers in the southwest to enable him to put a deposit on this Swan Valley property. In 1937 he bought the fertile coastal plain land that is still the core of the family business and sent for his wife and sons.
They grew grapes for dried fruit production but made a small amount of wine for the Perth immigrant community. The family has continued to produce wines for over 80 years and we have been selling fruit to other wineries for approximately 40 years.
The Windy Creek Estate label was first released in 1980. Tony Cobanov, the current winemaker, entered the industry as a third-generation winemaker and is very passionate about the Swan Valley and its lifestyle. He has 3 sons Joshua, Callum and Rohan so it is a distinct possibility that this will become a 4th generation business and he can’t think of anything better than that.
Today the winery employs modern and traditional wine-making techniques producing unique flavours across many varietals. Crisp dry whites, luscious late harvests, earthy, complex reds, and glorious sticky fortified wines.

If you wish to picnic at our cellar door we ask that you book before arrival. NO private parties without a booking and a minimum spend will be required.
NO BYO DRINKS, HOT FOOD or BBQs.
Windy Creek Estate reserve the right to inspect bags on entry.

Groups of 6 or more are advised to avoid disappointment by pre-booking wine tastings.
There is a small charge.

Windy Creek Estate is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Swan Valley in the shadows of the Darling Range and has been producing quality wines for over 80 years.
Enjoy FREE Borrello Cheese from one of Western Australia's premium cheese makers. Also available are Wicked Stepmother's preserves and chutneys.
Note: Our cartons are always discounted. 2 FREE bottles in every case of wine and 1 FREE bottle in fortified cases.

The new cellar door is set in the lovingly tendered vineyard with the Darling Scarp as a backdrop. Tony and Ruth invite you to come along for a chat and a taste of their range of fine wines and fortified. We are also dog friendly - to friendly dogs!
YOUR DAY WITH US
With the expansion of the cellar door, we can accommodate larger events and gatherings. Our beautiful lawned garden with rose bush borders is the perfect setting for those special days in your life. Your caterers are welcome to come and set up your event and of course, plenty of delicious wine is available at all times. (No beer). We also have music and screen facilities.
